Week 2 Thing 5

Here is a neat little mashup for Flickr. This one organizes recent pictures to teach children phonics. If you click the letter E it shows pictures that were tagged w/ the word elephant. Kids could make their own picture alphabet book.

I can see using the Map mashup in Kindergarten when I teach our planner on basic needs. This mashup allows you to view photos from a certain area based on the tag.

    The scary thing about the Flickr mashup you posted is the warning about the possibility of inappropriate photos coming up. Don't you wish they would come up with a "safe" version? There are so many great photos there. *sigh*

    Yes, I saw that note. Glad it was posted.

    You can avoid that by simply pulling up the letter prior to showing it. The pictures don't change once the letter is loaded. I tried it a few times.
